Edward Franklin Fritsch, 95, of Pottstown, PA passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Manatawny Manor. A Naval Aviator in WWII, he was the husband of the late Betty J. (Holdren) Fritsch.
Born in Philadelphia, PA on November 9, 1922, Edward was the son of the late Joseph E. Fritsch, Sr., and Florence R. (Emes) Fritsch.
Edward worked for Doehler Jarvis National Lead for 42 years. He was an avid golfer most of his adult life. He maintained a life-long passion for working with numbers and investing, and actively followed the ongoing growth and development of computers and technology.
The family would like to thank the staff at Chestnut Knoll for the excellent care Edward received during his time there.
He is survived by two children, Robert Fritsch (Janet), Royersford, PA, and Carolynn Schrading (Paul), Pittsburgh, PA; five grandchildren, Jeannie Schott (Eric); Marsha McGogney (Liberty Kibombo); Tim McGogney; Daniel Fritsch (Laura); and Angela Kollmeyer (Bruce); and seven great-grandchildren, Kevin, Luke, James, Bruce, Henry, Tyler, and Josephine.
He is predeceased by three siblings, Miriam F. Kirlin, Joseph E. Fritsch, Jr., and Irene E. Noel.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Houck & Gofus Funeral Home, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown, PA 19464. A funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. Inurnment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
