David A. Dunlap, 67, of Birdsboro, PA, passed away on November 17, 2020, at Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Betty M. (Wentzel) Dunlap, with whom he shared 28 years of marriage.
Born in Pottstown, PA, on September 11, 1953, David was the son of the late Charles M. Dunlap and Jean A. (Sloan) Dunlap.
David worked at US Axel as a lathe operator for about 21 years before retiring in 2018. In his free time, he enjoyed going to listen to music and going dancing with his wife. He was a Philadelphia Eagles fan and would always have long chats about the sport with his grandson whom he also liked to play Xbox with when he was a kid. Dave’s two great-grandkids had him laughing and smiling through his toughest days.
In addition to his wife, he is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Tammy Rippel, spouse of Kim Matias, Clearwater, FL; his grandson, Cody Rippel, husband of Amanda (Atkinson) Rippel, Reading, PA; and two great-grandchildren, Jordyn and Sohl Rippel.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, William C. Dunlap; and his two sisters, Charlene A. (Dunlap) Steininger and Joan D. (Dunlap) Emes.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to David’s family to help defray funeral expenses.
