Wayne Sloan

Robert Wayne Sloan, 77, of New Hanover Twp., PA, passed away on November 6, 2022, at Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Judy Katherine (Cornell) Sloan, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.

Born in Bedford, PA, on August 1, 1945, Wayne was the son of the late Robert and Josephine (Foor) Sloan.

Wayne graduated from Everett High School in 1963, and served in the United States Air Force until his honorable discharge in 1969. He worked for Dana Incorporated in Pottstown, PA, and retired in 2000. Wayne spent much of his time outdoors - he was a proficient gardener and fisherman who even made his own fishing poles! He enjoyed listening to Bluegrass music, playing his banjo, reading sci-fi books, and testing his luck with scratch-off lottery tickets. He also liked bowling, and was an avid NASCAR fan who rooted for Kevin Harvick and Mark Martin. Most of all, Wayne loved the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren who meant the world to him.

In addition to his wife, Wayne is lovingly remembered by his daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa L. Sloan Yancik and John, Amy L. Morriss and Steve, and Jennifer L. Morgan and Tim; his grandchildren, Alexis L. Sloan, J. Robbie Morriss, Nathan T. Morgan, Cody C. Morgan, and Grayson S. Morgan; his siblings, Darryl Lynn (& Lena) Sloan, Bernard Carl (& Sherry) Sloan, James Lee Sloan, Lisa Beth (& David) Hillegass, and Brian Keith (& Donna) Sloan; and his sister-in-law, Libby Sloan. In addition to his parents, Wayne was predeceased by his brother, Larry Joe Sloan.
